Burgundy Glazed Ceramic Table Lamp
This burgundy glazed ceramic table lamp was made by Roland Zobel at the Les Cyclades workshop in Anduze, France, circa 1960.
The lamp has a soft spherical body that tapers into a slender neck. It is covered with a deep, glossy glaze in burgundy and dark raspberry tones, with natural variations of color where the glaze thickens and thins over the curves. The simple, rounded silhouette lets the glaze take center stage, and the lamp brings a warm note of color to a side table, a desk or a bedside table.
Roland Zobel designed ceramic lamps and objects at Les Cyclades, in Anduze, in the 1960s. This ceramic table lamp is typical of his work, with a strong form and a rich monochrome glaze.
The lamp is stamped "Les Cyclades" on the underside.
The lamp is sold as the ceramic base with its fitting.
