Fox hunting by LEMANCEAU – French ceramic animal sculpture – Art Deco – 1930.
Large and beautiful animal sculpture representing a fox hunting in the Art Deco style of which Charles LEMANCEAU (1905-1980) is a master. The very elongated posture of the fox and the brightness of the black enamel give both vivacity and delicacy to the object.
Sculpture referenced in the book "Les Craquelés, les animaux en céramiques 1920-1940" by Patrick Malaureille – Editions Massin 1993 – Page 39 (other model in white ceramic)
