René Maurel
From 1945 to 1960, René Maurel worked in Vallauris, the capital of art pottery on the Côte d'Azur, whose reputation had been boosted by Pablo Picasso's arrival. He then settled not far from Nice, in Tourrettes-sur-Loup, until 1974.
Known for his refined sense of form and subtle use of colour, his work bridges mid-century modern elegance with artisanal craftsmanship.
