Marius Bessone

Marius Bessone (1929–2001) was a French ceramist from Vallauris. He studied both industrial techniques for architecture and ceramic decoration before opening his own workshop in 1954 with his wife Huguette, with whom he took part in nearly all of the Vallauris biennales and many exhibitions across France and Europe.

He is recognised for his continuous experimentation with surface and glaze, including crystallisations, relief textures and volcanic effects, and filed patents for new ceramic decoration processes.
