Marcel Giraud

Marcel Giraud settled in Vallauris in the 1950s, when the village, transformed by the arrival of Pablo Picasso, had become an intense place of creation where Roger Capron, Robert Picault and Suzanne Ramié were making their names.

Drawn to the art of fire, he went to the Tolia workshop to learn wood-firing, the chemistry of oxides and the building of kilns, and worked for Les Argonautes and for Albert Thiry before setting up on his own.
