Aldo Londi

Aldo Londi (1911–2003) was a painter, sculptor and above all a ceramist, born in Montelupo Fiorentino. At the age of eleven he started working for the Fanciullacci manufactory, where he learned the traditional techniques of pottery.

After the war he became art director of the Bitossi ceramics studio in Montelupo, whose production he transformed. For Bitossi he designed his most famous lines, such as Rimini Blu, Mondrian, Lobster, Sivilla and Etrusca, widely distributed in the United States by Raymor.
