Albert Thiry

Albert Thiry, a ceramist from Nice, studied at the School of Decorative Arts in the city. He settled with his wife Pyot Gavaudan in 1943 in the pottery village of Vallauris.

In 1956 he joined Claire and René Batigne as a decorator at the Tapis Vert workshop, which they had run since 1950. He set up on his own in 1962, joined by his wife, who had been a designer and decorator at the Giraud workshop since 1956.
