Bruno H'Rdy
Vintage Stoneware Table Lamp
This French stoneware table lamp was made by ceramicist Bruno H'Rdy in La Borne, France, circa 1970. La Borne, in the Cher region, has been one of the leading centers of French studio pottery since the mid-20th century, known for its wood-fired stoneware.
The lamp has a baluster form in natural earth tones. Its speckled surface and the variations of its wood-fired glaze are typical of La Borne stoneware, so each piece is unique. The ceramic body is warm and tactile, and the lamp gives a soft, organic presence to a side table or console.
The stoneware table lamp bears the stamped mark of Bruno H'Rdy near the base.
The lamp is sold as the ceramic base with its fitting.
