Ceramic Vase

Delicate enamelling in white and violet tones – Ring neck. Signed under the base.

Born in Sousse, Tunisia in 1955, Marc Uzan discovered modelling at the age of 18. In the 1970s, he opened his first workshop in Paris and by the end of the decade was travelling extensively. In the 1990s, he returned to the Sarthe region in northern France where he founds his workshop. A researcher of form and colour, he compares himself to a scientist, whose empirical approach consists of creating 'laboratory ceramics'. Recognised as one of the best contemporary representatives of stoneware and porcelain ceramics, Marc Uzan takes part in numerous solo and group exhibitions in France and abroad.
