Vintage Speckled Stoneware Pear-Shaped Table Lamp
This speckled stoneware pear-shaped table lamp, in the style of Jacques Migeon, was made in France circa 1970.
The stoneware is covered with a satin glaze in sandy beige tones, dotted with natural dark iron speckles that come from the clay during firing. The soft silhouette and the tactile surface of the stoneware give the lamp a calm, sculptural presence, and it sits easily on a bedside table, a side table or a desk.
The maker of this stoneware table lamp is unknown. Its material, its glaze and its organic form are characteristic of French studio stoneware of the 1970s, when many potters made lamps with simple, generous shapes and natural glazes.
The lamp is sold as the stoneware base with its fitting.
